If you are having problems of an intricate nature associated with a computer system or software then you can enter questions on this site which is read by PC experts in all fields who are generally only too happy to show off their knowledge.

You may find that the experts give short-shrift to questions of a very basic nature which could be answered by a quick think or a read of the manual or help files but, if you have tried your best and haven't sorted out your problem give them a try.

I have just found an interesting site, referred to in an article in the Times dated 11/9/02, relating to Internet Security with various 'real-time' security checks and other articles covering such things as Zip drive problems (specifically the 'Click of Death' which describes the reasons for an Iomega drive producing clicking sounds before the failure of the cartridge or drive) and I was actually impressed by the professional content and the well written pages which is something generally missing from many of the amateur sites. In fact I almost had the impression that a Marketing oriented person had generated the web pages.

I think that this guy, Steve, sounds as though he knows a reasonable amount about computers, software and systems - some of the hidden depths that most others gloss over.

I have tried the Internet Security probes which reported that my server was extremely well secured (I am using MS ISA Server and not hosting a web site so I'm not surprised that my system appears to be pretty much invisible) but a quick check at the reports on my server did not indicate that any probing had even been detected - therefore I cannot be sure that the probes actually did anything - having said that though I haven't spent any time really checking or monitoring. What I am really saying here is that I cannot vouch for any of the software on his site but if it does what it says as well as it says it then its worth having a look at but I can't be held me responsible for anything that may occur!
